Ukrainian Startups Taking Over CES 2019

The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 started in Las Vegas on January 8. Annually, Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF), Concepter, and UVCA support the Ukrainian pavilion at CES. This year, they selected six companies that are currently representing Ukraine’s tech in Las Vegas – among them IT Arena Startup Competition finalist – Funlight. Let’s find out what products are now on display at the world’s biggest gathering of consumer technologies.

Funlight – a Ukrainian startup, which provides a 15-minute virtual reality trip, where you can immerse yourself in the world of imagination. Customers can choose one from different scenarios and become a part of an augmented game without any VR headsets.Сurrently this interactive adventure is only available at Lavina Mall in Kyiv.

Rawr – a smart collar that keeps you and your pet connected even on the distance. Moreover, Rawr makes sure your pet is safe and healthy – it monitors the pet’s activity, sets activity goals, etc. Rawr has temperature and water sensors that will notify you if the pet is too hot or too cold.

 

Flasty – this Ukrainian startup has come to CES with its food 3D printer – CHOCOLA3D. The printer uses chocolate, dough, meat, and other products. Flasty targets mainly cafes and restaurants. Right now the printer is available for $ 1600, but the price will decrease, once the mass production is launched.

Nuka – eternal stationery: a notebook and a pencil that will serve you forever. The notebook is made of synthetic paper and is waterproof. You can use a regular pen for writing, splash it with a hand sanitizer and erase everything. The pencil that comes with the notebook doesn’t require sharpening or lead refill, and can easily be attached to the notebook with the help of an in-built magnet. What makes Nuka even more impressive is its team of three creators who are just 16 years old!

 

Photon Light Module System – portable photo studio that will help newbie photographers and online stores. A box with in-built light will certainly simplify photoshoots and save your time and money for expensive lighting equipment.

Jollylook – analog photo camera made of cardboard. Jollylook resembles a vintage fold out camera, but it’s made entirely from recycled paper and cardboard. It’s a perfect gift for kids starting in photography. The product raised $ 377,429 on Kickstarter last year.

Among other Ukrainian startups showcasing their products at CES 2019 are Petcube and PIX Backpack. New Petcube products Petcube Play 2 and Petcube Bites 2 are equipped with 180-degree angle lenses and built-in support from Amazon’s voice assistant Alexa.
