Daniel B. Prieto is the Founder and Managing Partner at Range Strategic Advisors, LLC, which provides strategy, growth, and transactional advisory services to executive leaders at the intersection of technology and national security. He is also a Senior Fellow for the Future Security Program at the New America Foundation.  Previously, Dan served as Head of Cybersecurity Strategy & Solutions for Google Cloud Public Sector, as Director for Cybersecurity Policy in the White House on the National Security Council staff, and as Chief Technology Officer in the Office of the Department of Defense CIO. In other roles as a banker, corporate strategist, and consulting executive, he helped lead nearly $200B in M&A transactions in technology, aerospace, and defense, and held P&L responsibility for a 325+ person $125MM IT services organization. He has held fellowship appointments at Harvard, Stanford, and Columbia universities, and the Council on Foreign Relations. He holds board or advisory board roles with a number of emerging technology ventures in the areas of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and supply chain security. Dan received an M.A. from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a B.A. from Wesleyan University.
