Dinkar Jain
Dinkar is currently Vice President of Artificial Intelligence & Marketplace at Uber where he oversees the firm’s pricing, incentives and matching algorithms that govern Uber’s worldwide marketplace across Mobility and Delivery. His teams are responsible for roughly 70% of the annual financial targets at Uber.
Previously, Dinkar worked at Meta for 7 years, where he was Head of Artificial Intelligence for Ads and Director of Product Management. In this capacity he led teams that managed Meta’s global machine learning systems and algorithms, the ads targeting and delivery engine, and Meta’s efforts in Responsible AI. Under Dinkar’s leadership, Meta revenues saw a went from a $20B ARR to a $100B ARR from 2016 to 2021 and Meta made several strides forward in the areas of Responsible AI and AI privacy. Dinkar has previously worked at Google (Alphabet), Twitter, and Amazon. In these companies, as a product manager, Dinkar was a key member of Google’s war with Apple Maps over the local search market, Amazon’s first foray into recurring revenue products with Amazon Prime and Subscriptions, and two major overhauls of Twitter’s advertising platform. Prior to a career in the tech industry, Dinkar was busy globetrotting and serving clients in Tech, Financial Services, Media, Healthcare and Retail with the Boston Consulting Group.
Dinkar holds visiting faculty appointments at UCLA Anderson, Santa Clara University, and Hult International Business school where he teaches Artificial Intelligence to business leaders. His writings on this subject have appeared in Harvard Business Review and the Economist. He has spoken at several conferences around the world and advised venture firms and startups on topics related to Artificial Intelligence.
Dinkar holds an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School and a BSE, summa cum laude, from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He also attended the University of Iowa’s writer’s workshop in poetry. He has lived and worked in 12 major cities across 3 continents.
