Zdenka Loncar
Ms. Loncar has thirty years of experience working in multinational corporations, the government of Croatia, and international organizations. Between 2002 and 2012 she was regional manager in Nestle Adriatic, Philip Morris International, and MSD covering 7 countries of the South East Europe region.
Ms. Loncar served as Assistant Minister for international cooperation, investments and innovation in governemnt of Croatia in its pre-accession period as well in the initial period after Croatia joined European Union (2012-2017). Ms. Loncar was the liaison officer of the Mınistry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts with Brussels institutions and as such actively participated at a number of EU meetings related to the negotiating chapter 20 – Industry and SME. She was appointed as national team leader of the “Strategy for Women’s Entrepreneurship Development 2014-2020” and as one of the authors contributed to its presentation at SME Assembly in Naples, Italy in 2014 and in Brussels in 2015 during the WEgate platform meetings.
Between 2018 and 2019 Ms. Loncar worked as a Project Manager of the EUD-funded project in the International Red Cross on economic empowerment of vulnerable groups, specifically women 50+.
She joins UN Women after serving as a consultant covering women’s economic empowerment and governance issues in the Western Balkans region. Between 2020 and 2023 she worked in UN Women Bosnia and Herzegovina on EUD funded project “Gender Equality Facility in BiH” on gender mainstreaming in the EU pre-accession process.
Ms. Loncar has an MBA from the Cotrugli Business School.
Ms. Loncar joined UN Women Ukraine at the end of June 2023 in a capacity of Programme Specialist for gender mainstreaming in EU integrations.
