Critical Infrastructure and Critical Institutions: cybersecurity takeaways between Ukraine and the UK

10:00-13:00 Tech Track

Through case studies, we will explore the cybersecurity challenges involved in defending critical national infrastructure through three perspectives: first, the complexity in risk identification and mitigation at different levels of the technology stack in cyber-physical systems, cloud platforms, and competing standards. We then discuss supply chain design and its bottlenecks, and the cases for centralised and decentralised architectures. Finally, we look at the role of regulatory and legislative approaches in supply chain security vis-a-vis critical national infrastructure, and by means of a short exercise, we discuss context-specific paths for future security initiatives
