Oleksandr has over 20 years of experience in law enforcement. He began his career in 2003 as an investigator with the Lviv Police and later headed the regional Organized Crime Department. Since 2015, he has served at the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), advancing from detective to unit head.
He has been a candidate for the positions of NABU Director and Head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP). In August 2025, Oleksandr was appointed Director of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine (BES).
A combat veteran of the Anti-Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine, he also served in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense during the full-scale war.

βKurchenko Oilβ Case β exposed a criminal organization created and led by former Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, Serhiy Pashynskyi, which seized thousands of tons of oil products, causing losses near 1 billion UAH.
Β Operation βClean Cityβ β uncovered a criminal organization that established control over key economic activities within the Kyiv City Council. Among the suspects were senior officials and deputies of the Kyiv City Council and administration. Documented damages β over 94 million UAH.
Corruption in the Energy Sector β exposed the Deputy Minister of Energy accepting a $500,000 bribe; funds confiscated by court ruling were directed to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
