Ieva Ilves brings over two decades of experience in foreign policy, digital transformation, and cybersecurity. She has served as Advisor to the President of Latvia, at Latvia’s Ministry of Defence, with the EU Special Representative in Azerbaijan, and at Latvia’s Mission to NATO.
After Russia’s full-scale invasion, she worked with the EU Advisory Mission in Ukraine. Today, she supports Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation, leads a cybersecurity education program in Riga, and serves on the Board of Latvia’s National AI Center.
She led Latvia’s first national cybersecurity strategy, the establishment of NATO’s STRATCOM COE in Riga, and the launch of the “Computer for Every School Child” program. She also co-founded Women4Cyber Latvia and has supported RigaTechGirls and the StartSchool peer-learning platform.
Ieva is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University SAIS and is the former First Lady of Estonia.
