Brooks was the Member of Parliament for Braintree (2005-2015) and served in the UK Government as Minister for Civil Society, with responsibility for charities, the voluntary sector, and youth. Before Parliament, Brooks was a Senior Partner at Apollo Management, a leading international Private Equity firm. He has also been an angel investor, helping startups succeed.
When the war started in 2022, Brooks focused his attention on Ukraine, delivering humanitarian support to its citizens. Drawing on his experience in finance, politics, and humanitarian work, Brooks is now actively engaged in supporting Ukraine’s defense technology sector as Co-founder of Trypillian, committing $5 million in early-stage investment.
With his unique background, Brooks brings a rare mix of strategic insight and operational capability. He believes Ukraine needs more than promises — it needs committed, long-term partners. This belief drives his work at Trypillian, where he is dedicated to supporting innovation that protects Ukrainian lives.
