Bio

Mark Lennon is a technology and public-sector executive who has spent nearly three decades helping governments adopt commercial innovations to address complex civic and national security challenges. He is the founder of Polar Spark, a firm focused on accelerating the practical application of emerging technologies across government, defense, and public safety.

Mark has held senior leadership positions at Apple, Accenture, and Gartner. At Apple, he

established and led the company’s global public sector strategy and programs organization,

working with governments on digital services, secure mobility, and citizen experience. His

career also includes leading major digital transformation initiatives for national, state, and local governments and advising senior officials on AI, emerging technology, and public-private collaboration.


Mark served for 27 years as a U.S. Navy Intelligence Officer, including assignments supporting special operations forces, allied militaries, and the Defense Innovation Unit. His defense work has focused on translating technologies such as AI, autonomous systems, advanced communications, and edge computing into operational capabilities.


Ukraine has been central to Mark’s work since 2020. He developed a close working relationship with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s administration while at Apple and later supported the rapid delivery of commercial defense technologies to Ukraine. He has advised Ukrainian government and defense leaders on digital transformation and the development of Ukraine’s wartime innovation ecosystem, helping connect startups, investors, policymakers, and operational users.
