Morten Friis-Olivarius

Neuroscientist, Creativity Researcher & Serial Entrepreneur
Bio

Morten Friis-Olivarius has spent most of his career exploring a deceptively simple question: What makes the human mind capable of such extraordinary things, and can we learn to develop those capacities deliberately?

That question first took him deep inside the brain, studying how original ideas emerge before we are even consciously aware of them. Since then, it has taken him far beyond the laboratory.

Today, Morten works at the intersection of neuroscience, creativity, innovation, leadership and human performance. His work ranges from helping global companies rethink how they lead and innovate to building neurotechnology, working with CEOs, executive teams and leaders at some of the world’s largest companies, and exploring how the nervous system shapes our ability to think and perform under pressure.

For two decades, Morten has built a career bridging rigorous scientific inquiry with real-world innovation and human performance. Along the way, he has founded several science-driven ventures, including the Copenhagen Institute of NeuroCreativity, and the neurotechnology company PlatoScience, where he served as Science Director for six years and helped develop one of the first consumer brain-stimulation headsets designed to enhance cognitive performance.

Throughout his career, Morten has not just explored the hidden biological pathways through which original ideas emerge in the brain. His career has ultimately become an experiment in what becomes possible when science and creativity are put into practice.
